Charlbury is in the beautiful Evenlode Valley, surrounded by glorious Cotswold countryside, with walks in every direction, including along the River Evenlode to Ditchley Park mansion. Walkers can also join the meandering Oxfordshire Way, which also passes through Charlbury town, or follow the Finstock and Evenlode Walk - a lovely 5-mile loop that starts from the centre of Charlbury, passes the Cornbury Park Estate (a National Nature Reserve and Site of Special Scientific Interest) with a pub about halfway around in Finstock.
Charlbury has a well-stocked Cooperative Food Store (with a car park), selling a wide range of food and drinks. There is also a Londis convenience store in the town and the Charlbury Deli on Market Street. For larger supermarkets head to Witney (7 miles) where there is a Waitrose, and a Marks & Spencer Food Hall, or Chipping Norton (8 miles) where there is a Sainsbury’s Local, a Cooperative Food Store, Aldi and Marks & Spencer Food Hall. The Co-Op Pharmacy is within walking distance on Market street.
